Cortina Heritage House
In October 2015, Lancaster Painters Australia were contracted by TD & LJ Reid Maintenance to perform heritage remedial and reconstruction work to the water damaged ceiling, wall and picture rail of the staircase of Cortina heritage house. Prior to commencement of works, we implemented work health and safety strategies, laid plastic and drop sheets to protect the work areas and items including the carpet.
Works involved moisture testing, colour matching, scraping, plastering, filling and painting. We stripped the wallpaper from the water damaged ceiling and repainted it as requested. After painting all surfaces, we applied a French wash effect by hand to the wall to match the original wash in design and colour. During the process of works and on completion of works, we cleaned the work areas and removed all the rubbish created by the works from the site.
The owners hired our services for further interior reconstruction repaint work of water damaged areas of their house. Later they hired our services again to repaint the stringers and skirtings of the staircase and to perform exterior repaint work. Sections of the front fence and gate, the wooden lattice, window frames and the front door were repainted to match the original heritage colour scheme. Gary Lancaster repainted the name Cortina on the pillar of the fence (see the photo at the top of this page). For more information, click here.
